To R.{Sir Henry Royce} from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to BJ. WoR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} c. to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} c. to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} ORIGINAL ENGINE SUSPENSION. X8005 X63A We recommend that a proper scheme is got out for supporting the engine in the manner suggested in the attached report. We feel certain it will materially increase the smoothness of all of our cars. It has made a remarkable difference to 10-EX car. It has reduced the forward and overrun vibrations. From 600 r.p.m. up to the speed at which the valves jump, the engine is very smooth. Previously we never liked this engine at high speeds. We expect to bring 10-EX car to WW. on Friday the 18th.inst. The engine will be mounted in this way and fitted with new crankshaft and rods, and slipper wheel. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
