SUGGESTIONS FOR FUTURE TESTS FOR
NEW CHASSIS, BEFORE GOING ONTO
PRODUCTION.

The following points are the suggestions put forward
by those responsible for testing the various sections in which
they are interested, on new models before they are put into
production.

Transmission.

Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Gearbox.

Road - 50,000 miles, including 15,000 in France.

Dyno - At 2,000 engine r.p.m.

100 hrs. 3rd. or overdrive full throttle } using)
followed by 30 hrs. 2nd. 2nd. speed lift. } E.P. lub. } 90°C
" " 8 hrs. 1st. full throttle } engine)
" " 1 hr. 1st. } oil. }
" " 1 hr. 1st.

* This is a separate additional test run on new
gears, but all other parts unchanged. It is most
easily done by using a larger engine.
The axle and gear boxes should be tested up and down
mountain roads.
