86052. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} From Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. c. to By/RD. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.7/MA.15.9.33. R.R. BATTERY IGNITION CONDENSERS. Referring to your E.1/HP12.9.33 we do have trouble with our condensers both in England, according to the Repair Dept., and also abroad, according to Mr.Chandler. The Repair Dept., consider that our condenser are now not as good as coils in service. Actual measurements we have made in the Electrical Laboratory shew that the use of our present condenser reduces the available plug voltage when hot by as much as 10%, when compared with the plug voltage obtained using a circular type of constant capacity - temperature characteristics. Referring to the last paragraph of your memo, we are at the moment engaged in testing out the double breaker distributor using the new cam DB{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}358. This is giving very good results but we are making careful analysis of its performance as compared with the Delco-Remy which gives such good results. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
