15. RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IEW.3/HB.{C. E. Harcombe}10.9.37. Bodywork. Park, Ward enclosed drive Limousine. No fundamental structural weakness or noise trouble was apparent and the body was generally satisfactory, and remained free from cracks. A rather bad wind noise occurred at the rear edge of the back doors, which could be overcome by sealing the gaps between the doors and the pillars. The offside door had a wider gap than the nearside and made more noise. The method of securing the rear seat cushion was most unsatisfactory in every way, and the cushion usually found its way onto the floor. The second safety catches on the rear door lock plates were not well formed compared with the fronts and there appeared a possibility of the catches riding over them. The nearside front door rattled due to fouling the door frame at the front edge of the waist line. The junction box for the rear number plate and tail and stop lamps was in the line of fire of stones and badly knocked about. It requires to be moved to a less vulnerable position. There was an intermittent fault on the circuit to the rear companion lights. The elbow rests on the front doors were not liked and if removed the metal fixing plates were most uncomfortable. The special partition which disappears in the roof worked satisfactorily. The general seating including the occasional seats was good. RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M.
