802 also 302 To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} TEST OF BENTLEY 50 GEARBOX IN PHANTOM III CHASSIS. With regard to our asking you to fit the second of the new overdrive boxes, B.V. No.2, in 30-EX., we have decided to retain the Bentley rear axle at present fitted. We should, however like a new pair of 10/41 gears and a new pinion bearing. The propellor shaft should be a Hardy Spicer one, with small joints and the sliding joint fitted at the rear. This will enable us to test the various modified slip joints supplied by Hardy Spicers in an attempt to overcome indentation of the needle tracks. Some time ago we asked you to make some Bentley axle gears in SZNCK; are these yet available ? Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
