Dear Sirs,

Drop-head Coupé for Experimental Bentley.

We understand that you are preparing a standard Drop-head Coupé for the use of our Eperimental Dept., and it is their wish as well as ours that we should have on this body a form of door dovetail similar to the Ternstedt.

The one they would like to use is that fitted by Messrs. Vauxhall Motors Ltd., and is known as the "Bassick" type, and we understand is manufactured by Boyriven Ltd. We would be glad if you would obtain samples of this door dovetail for this purpose. In the meantime we are obtaining samples for our inspection.

The dovetail unit is 1.650" wide and 3.850" long. The part boxed into the pillar is 1.1" wide and 2.3" long. It would appear possible, therefore, to fit this to the body in question, and we suggest that it should be used in conjunction with the normal Silent Travel Lock.

The writer will discuss this with you during his visit on Wednesday.

Yours faithfully,

For and on behalf of
ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
