Dear Sirs,

For the Attention of Mr Rowbottom.

With reference to the matter of shutter operating thermostats discussed between yourselves and the undersigned. We enclose herewith a blue print shewing the modification to the bonnet sill of the radiator, made necessary by the increased diameter of the Smithermet case.
It appears to be just possible to employ the larger instrument, at least experimentally, but the alteration of its position relative to the control slot in the radiator entails a modification to the two levers, we believe however that their ratio of length may be as before.
If this appeals to you we suggest making one or more similar in design to the double acting type you are now using but of increased diameter.
For your information the exterior diameter of the case is 74 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore}
Awaiting your comments and instructions,
We are,
Yours faithfully,

S. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LTD.
