DESCRIPTION Bentley 50 Type non-servo brakes, to be fitted to a Bentley II - Lockheed front, Girling Rear. PURPOSE To see if the brakes as suggested will (1) Stop the car in a reasonable distance two or three times in succession (2) Have a reasonably light pedal pressure. NEW OR MODIFIED APPARATUS REQUIRED One set of brake parts:- 1) A set of rear brakes as on 6BIV (Bentley II Type, can be used up on a BIII later) 2) Standard front drums, standard Lockheed components, welded sheet metal shoes. 3) A very simple linkage from pedal to rear brakes, many pieces made from standard parts. COST TACKLE (EJJ) £[blank] EXPTL. UNIT (G/Rb.{R. Bowen}) £125 3 MONTHS( DEVPT.G/Rb{R. Bowen}) £150. APPLICATION MADE BY W.A. Robotham REMARKS Completion date for designs 27/11/37 By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} In view of complicated system of levers with independent designs this is desirable & Ext. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} We know of no more economical way of testing hydraulic brakes. In conjunction with BIV rear brakes we have a complete Phania mockup.
