To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst from Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} 16116. Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}3/T31.12.34. FOG LAMPS Of the several fog lamps which I have tried the "Currus" is definitely the best. It is obviously a lamp which has been experimented with a great deal before arriving at its present state as there are so many unusual features about it. The secret of its success appears to be that they have firstly produced a flat and very wide ray of diffused light by means of the oval reflector, and have then almost blotted out the centre of it so that one obtains illumination of both sides of the road and does not have to look along the beam of light, but rather view it from the side of the beams. I find the lamp a good substitute for head lamps when in and around the town where street lighting is poor, and it causes no inconvenience whatever to others on the road. It would be most interesting to try a larger size if such is obtainable. The quality of the lamp might be improved by being constructed of slightly heavier gauge material.
