FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} ORIGINAL E1/M11.12.30. X6020. RECEIVED 12 DEC 1930 To DG. WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} for GWN. re. OVERHEATING OF P. 2. H.T. MAGNETO WIRING. Confirming our telephone message of even date, it is decided that we must not shorten the leads by moving the wiring tube round a half turn. We therefore proposed to move the wiring on the existing tube so that No. 3. lead issued from No. 2. nozzle and No. 2. lead issued with No. 1. lead from the front end, while the unused nozzle No. 3. was deleted. On further consideration of this scheme however R.{Sir Henry Royce} is not satisfied that it is good enough, particularly with reference to No. 4. lead being threaded through the bracket, and he would like No. 4. to have a new nozzle further back to make sure that the lead cannot be wrongly placed. We attach herewith LeC. 2349. showing the wiring tube shortened and re-arranged as approved by R.{Sir Henry Royce} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
