Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/CTS.{C. Trot Salt - Carburation} 2/JH. 24.11.39 we have instructed Mr. Morgan (Vs{J. Vickers}/Mn) to contact you as early as possible and collect together the Pattern equipment available for the Aluminium "Straight 8" engine and forward this to Glasgow along with the set of the Final Drawings for this engine to enable us to finish off the Patterns, check them over, and push ahead producing as many Castings as you require. We hope to be in Derby on Monday next, 4th December, and propose going out to Shardlow along with Mr. Morgan to check over the Patterns stored there, so as to give you an outline of our present position with regard to this equipment. We see no difficulty in the way of our producing any experimental Castings you may require in Aluminium and in fact we should be very glad to do so in order to keep up to date with the developments of the Chassis side. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} has promised us a set of Drawings for the new 4 Cylinder Engine which we have instructed Mr. Morgan to call and collect on Friday morning 31st, along with the complete Specification, when it is intended that we submit to you an estimate of the cost of production of Pattern Equipment for this and if necessary go ahead and produce for you Pattern Equipment if the estimate is approved.
