WRAITH III. FRONT SUSPENSION.

F.CD.306.
Please receive herewith Anti Roll Rod, which is the completed drawing of which an advance print was sent you a few days ago. The design is based on that of the Oldsmobile, and the rating given is the same as on that car.

The features of the design, such as the rod bent round to form its own levers, the rubber bearings and the type of rubber joint in the connecting rods, are the same as those of the Oldsmobile, the actual pieces of which have been fitted to be tried on Wraith.

Attached is a Table of loads, stresses, rates etc. The maximum loads and stresses given do not take account of local deflection in the rubber bearings and bushes and in the rod arms, all of which tend to relieve the stress in the rod and therefore the loads throughout.

The material specified for the rod is S/SLM, and BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} instructs that at least .015 should be removed from the bar diameter as rolled, either by centreless turning or centreless grinding.
