Dear Mr. Robotham,
Lord Rothes has written me regarding your query in connection with the tread depth on the 4 ply 6.00/16 and 6 ply 6.00/16 India Aero Cushion tyres.
At the present moment there is no difference in the amount of tread or the nonskid depth on these two tyres but we are taking steps shortly to increase the amount of tread on the 6 ply.
I think my previous letter to you explains quite fully our reasons for recommending 6 ply tyres. Although there is no difference in the tread depth, we believe that the 6 ply tyre will give a little more mileage than the 4 ply tyre due to the extra stiffness of the tyre under the tread.
Yours faithfully,
INDIA TYRE & RUBBER COMPANY LIMITED.
Paul Worth.
Works Manager.
