COPY. To Mr. Bleeney. 21.12.20. Re. 106-AE. Straight sided Tyres and Wheels. Goodyear Tyre Company came and fitted their tyres on, also two Dunlop covers. I was helping to blow up one of the Dunlop tyres and had got 60 lbs. pressure into it, when the outer bead of the wheel gave way, and burst thetube. The rim came off and struck my arm, nearly breaking it, besides knocking me over. On examining the wheel I find that it is faulty, and I consider that the metal is not thick enough to stand the strain. The outer bead on wheel has split right off, and I should like you to send someone to examine the wheel. The cause of the damage was not due to badly fitted tyres, for everything was quite in order before I started to blow it up. Someone ought to test the other five wheels before they are fitted to the car, as otherwise a serious accident might happen on the road. (Sgd.) F.R.SCHENK. | ||
