EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT.

Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} /Std.10/JH.
4th October, 1938.

Messrs. John Marston Ltd.,
Wolverhampton.

For the attention of Mr. Dunn.

Dear Sirs,

Herewith please receive list of parts EW.1960 for the Wraith 80 radiator which you are building for us. You will note that we have ticked off the pieces which you will make and supply to us in the matrix unit and have marked with the letters 'RR' the pieces which we will supply to you for fitting.

Attached also are prints of drawing EB.4156, EB.4157 EB.3788, EB.3983, EB.3789 which have been altered for various reasons. Will you please scrap the prints which you already have under these numbers.

Attached is print of EB.4279 which shows the shutter bottom support plate for the radiator which you are making for us at the moment (B.III) and which also applies for B.50 radiator.

You will note that it has six holes in it corresponding with six in the shell and the centre hole on each side of the shell is intended to be used for attaching the support plate and shutters to the shell. When the radiator is mounted on the chassis, the front apron securing bolts will pass through the remainder of these holes and help to secure the shutter support plate and shell. In this way the attachment of yours consisting of pads and nuts etc. will not be required - if possible we would like this feature on the B.III radiator you are now completing, if to late for this it should be on any future B.III or B.50 radiators you may build for us.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD
