Ref 3rd list SWALLOW '12 - 16 HP ORIGINAL R8/113.12.21. To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} C. to SJ. " Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}✓ " Hy.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} X4420 Proposed visit to W.Wittering. X4405 X4219 In reply to your Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}1/110.12.21. I shall be pleased to see you and Messrs Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and Hy{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer}, as early as you like next week. At present I have a touch of Bronchitis which I hope will be quite gone by then. We are proposing to modify the 40/50 engine and produce the still smaller chassis very much on G.11. lines (naturally with some improvements in simplicity and efficiency) which I am hoping fills our ideas of virtue and cost, as far as we can expect for the moment, it being more essential to get at them than squabble over the last pennyworth of cost. I want Derby and Sales to see things in this light as there are many small chassis being made perhaps at a profit which are more costly to build and less satisfactory afterwards.
