ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. INSTRUCTIONS. To: C.J.C. Order No.: Customer's No.: X3398 Re.: JB.58. Date: 14-8-1924 Re failure of ParBD11/2 Battery (75) This battery was reported faulty whilst on chassis 98NK in France. When it returned the battery was removed for examination. The result of this examination is as follows. The battery was first given a good charge of 200% but it would not gas up & also got very warm, the average density being only 1210. It was then allowed to stand for 3 days without any wires being connected to its terminals. After this time it was checked over again & the density in all the cells was below 1100 & the voltage was also low being approx: 1.75 on open circuit & no 1 cell showing no voltage at all. The battery. Signed: (cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}) Top Left Corner: RR. 300 (20 Bks.)
