23rd June, 1938.

W.O. Bentley, Esq.,
Lagonda Motors Ltd.,
STAINES,
Middlesex.

Dear W.O.,

I should like to thank you for the very pleasant time you gave us yesterday.

Seeing your house and garden was an unexpected pleasure.

With regard to the car, I can honestly say that I am astonished at the standard which you have reached in so short a time, particularly in view of the fact that you have had to educate the factory with regard to manufacturing.

The engine in particular struck me as being a very sweet running unit.

I hope that you will not be overwhelmed with Service troubles, which are always the worst part of any new motor-car.

We are looking forward to having the Lagonda as a competitor, which will prevent us sitting back and having a rest. As soon as any of our recent experimental stuff reaches the public, we shall be glad to give you an opportunity of trying it, if you are interested.

Yours sincerely,
