STEERING WOBBLES.

With reference to the letter from Mr. Nadin dated Jan. 2nd. 1926 which we attach herewith.

We will send to Springfield for the attention of NA.{Mr Nadin} and OY. a copy of all the experimental reports on steering wobbles. This will give them some idea of the amount of work there is to do on the subject and what conclusions have been arrived at.

It will be several days before we can send these off because there are a large number of reports to be copied.

As regards Na{Mr Nadin}'s remarks on springing. We cannot agree with this. We think they must have been unfortunate with the car they have tried. It may be that the springs or the weights on the car were not what they were intended to be.

We started off with the idea that the springing on cars fitted with 4-wheel brakes was definitely worse. A long series of tests were carried out in conjunction with sales of changing springs over and altering them on the same car under similar conditions, and the differences could hardly be appreciated. As a confirmation of this, w there were several hundreds of cars delivered to customers fitted with our standard springing. These cars were afterwards taken back from the customers and 4-wheel brakes fitted
