Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ml/W.6.11.30. x7250 x8250. x788. RADIATOR TESTS. We have carried out further radiator tests on Brooklands. Since the latest 6 mm. square tubes E.81385 expanded horizontally only were not available, we tried the effect of indentation on square tubes on E.80239. At the same time we compared the standard tubes E.89448 having four bulges in them with similar tubes having eight bulges in them. The results shewed that the large square tubes did not gain 50% as much from the modification as the round tubes. On the other hand increasing the number of indentations from four to eight on the standard tube lowered the top water temperature by from 1 to 2° at speeds from 60 M.P.H. upwards. We are therefore fitting round tubes having eight bulges to the radiator of 18-S4. for 10,000 miles test. With reference to the 6 mm. square tubes which have previously given such good results E.81385. We now have a supply of these tubes expanded in one direction and these will be built up for the radiator of 27-EX. Brooklands Track being closed, we have no satisfactory and reliable method of testing them We suggest that an | ||
