Copy. Queensbury. Buckhurst Hill. ESSEX. 12th February, 1931. Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd, DERBY Dear Sirs, Further to my letter of yesterday, I think that possibly to avoid any misunderstanding, it would be as well to give you a complete list of the faults in my car, so that these may be eliminated before the latter is returned. (1) Body drumming is particularly bad. (2) Ventilators whistle when closed. (3) Glass partition between the driver's seat and rear compartment, rattles badly. (4) Front windscreen still leaks, although this was supposed to have been adjusted when the car was last at your Works. (5) Vibration on the floor of the car in the back seat. With reference to Item No.4, I noticed that on the last car you sent down to my house, the windscreen fitted to this car has a metal lip completely over-lapping any joints, whereas my own screen appears to be simply bedded in some sort of mastic. I think this is rather unsatisfactory. With reference to Item No.5, the drumming is most annoying to me, as after a long journey, this effects my nerves, and my legs feel semi-paralysed. You might also give your careful attention to the automatic signalling device, as this has also given trouble. contd: | ||
