RR 238 (150 BKS.) (SH57. 29-6-20.) MP 224358 X8797 ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. INSTRUCTIONS. To E.F.B. Date 19 - 7 - 1926. Order No. WB{Mr Brazier/Mr Bell}95 Customer's No. X8797 Watford E06 magneto with thicker aluminium armature cover plate. This modification to the standard Watford magneto, was the result of a suggested attempt to reduce reverberation of contact breaker and sleeve noise. It was considered that the thin aluminium cover plate amplified the noise acting as a reverberatory diaphragm, and the probability, was that fitting a thicker plate would appreciably reduce the noise. These magnetos have been tested on the bench (see WB{Mr Brazier/Mr Bell}63) and on chassis 44PK and 8 EX and the contd. Signed This Sheet must be filed on completion of the work. | ||
