Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}...from BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} 1020 BY.21/HR.29.3.40.. re FAFNIR MECHANI-SEAL BEARINGS. ------------------------------ Attached is a copy of a publication issued by the Fafnir Co., which contains a description of a permanently sealed bearing which has been noticed in the Technical press. I consider this has definite advantages for use on the chassis, particularly in cases where protection from mud etc., is difficult to arrange, such for example, as the centre bearing on the propeller shaft.
