GOSHAWK I - BRAKE OPERATING GEAR.
RECEIVED

We send herewith full size drawings of parts of the brake operating gear - "N" Scheme 734 - Adjuster and "N" Scheme 715 Equalizing gear. The pedals out of oval tubing we are working on now, and shall send them along in a few days.

"N" Scheme 734 is after Mr Elliott's sketch. The only difficulty we saw was that of assembling, as it appeared to be necessary to take the thing partly to pieces before it could be put in, and we tried several other schemes to see if we could get a complete unit which would go in intact. We have, however, abandoned them all, as they all had some defect, and have worked out the original scheme only.

On "N" Scheme 715 the central lever of the differential gear becomes a little thick in order to accomodate the jaw for the wire cable, and we have shewn at Fig B a suggestion for building up out of thinner stuff, and adding a boss, but we think that the thick material will perhaps be better. The design of the jaws for rods and for cables is based on the recent LoCn.

We have made use of a note to indicate that the levers should be set further back in accordance with Mr Royce's most recent instructions, but the levers as actually shewn are as originally drawn.
