(4). LEPAZ BRAKE DRUMS. CONTD. (9). FURTHER COMMENTS. (a) Steel drums are frequently distorted as received. (b) Cast Iron drums are also usually distorted as received due to the machining operation removing the tight outer layer which relieves internal stress. (c) LEPAZ is undistorted after machining due to relief of all stresses in the annealing treatment. (10) CONCLUSION. LEPAZ is superior to Steel or Cast Iron and more nearly satisfies all the requirements than any other metal. (11) FERODO RECOMMENDATION OF LINING. Ferodo recommend their M.R. material for use with LEPAZ. If greater heat conductivity from the lining is desired, F.B.A. can be used since LEPAZ is non-scoring. BS.{A J.
