EXCESS POUNDAGE OF OFFSIDE SPRINGS. At the recent Technical Conference held at W. on 21st November, after a discussion regarding the necessity for still providing springs for the offside of greater poundage than those fitted to the n/side, I promised to obtain the individual wheel weights of 2 or 3 cars in order to assist in definitely coming to a decision on this question. This has now been done and the results are as given below. All the cars are fitted with closed bodies of the limousine or sedanca type with de ville extension. 1. 2-CL. R.R. London Trials. Weight in running order with complete kit, 13 galls. petrol, one spare wheel on rear and driver at wheel - cwts. qrs lbs. o.s.f. wheel 11 2 14 n.s.f. " 12 0 14 o.s.r. " 14 2 0 n.s.r. " 14 3 0 o.s. wheels 26 0 14 n.s. " 26 2 0 Total weight 52 3 0 As might be expected, there are slight discrepancies in these various weights, but they do not appear to be sufficient to materially affect the general result. 2. 9 AL.
