We had a talk round the noise insulation scheme with JLE.{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} last time we were in London. We were concerned to find that in view of the weight increase it has been decided to leave it off Bentley cars, but appreciate that the system as originally recommended probably was unduly bulky.

We recommend that the following abbreviated schemes should be adopted. -

Felt on dashboard 2 lbs. 8 ozs.
Fibre on dashboard 2 8
Felt on scuttle 3 0
Front floorboard mat 6 1
Rear seatboard covered with felt 7 0
Leather pocket for change speed lever 4
2 tins of solution 2 0

TOTAL - 23 lbs. 5 ozs.

If still further weight reduction is desired the felt covering the rear seat board can be omitted.
