Dear Mr. Clarke,

It has occurred to me that it would be wise to confirm our recent interview, but first of all, may I express our appreciation of your kindness in devoting so much of your time to a matter which is primarily our own concern.

We understand the position is, that although you would like the opportunity of considering alternative proposals to the present warning signals, yet those you have had submitted to you up to the present time, including both our own and an instrument of German manufacture, do not constitute an advance on the Klaxon you are using at present. Nevertheless, it is felt by your people that it is up to us to submit further alternatives when we, on our part feel that we have something which may be suitable. Also that the further sample we submitted on the 28th ult. was not considered satisfactory.

The degree of popularity which the High Frequency type of Horn has achieved is extraordinary, and its application to many small Cars appears to us in itself to constitute a very good reason for trying to discover an alternative more distinctive in character and suitable for use on Rolls Royce Cars.

Regarding the question of the characteristics of the notes at present under consideration, we shall be glad to give all the assistance we can to establish the facts, and to this end we hope to submit to you the results of work being done for this by Professor Low including photographs of the sound wave forms. We cannot state definitely when these will be available, but expect them in the near future.

Thanking you personally once again for your recent kindness,

I remain,
Yours sincerely.
KLAXON LIMITED.
WORKS MANAGER.
