Increased Clutch Pedal Travel - SpectreCodename for Phantom III.

Herewith are N. Sch's 4404 and 4412 which show the above.

The pedal plate travel (new to fully out) has been increased from 4.25" to 5.0" at the centre of the plate which is at a radius of 13". The new travel is .100" more than for the Phantom.

We attach tabulated particulars of the movements, leverages and loads for the Phantom and for the SpectreCodename for Phantom III, as shown by N. Sch. 4404.

No allowances are made for deflection or friction, but in both cases SpectreCodename for Phantom III should be better than Phantom.

It will be seen that in respect of the particulars given the two clutches are almost identical.

One difference that should be noted is that as there is no possibility of increasing the spring load as the clutch wears (as can be done on the Phantom) the minimum spring load compares unfavourably with that of the Phantom. However, as far as we can ascertain there is very little, if any, need for the washers on the Phantom and when they are not used the SpectreCodename for Phantom III shows less % drop of load than the Phantom.

We show stops for the pedal travel in both directions. A spring is provided to hold the pedal back against the board when not in use.

The clutch spring loads given for the SpectreCodename for Phantom III in the table are those intended to be provided
