To REC. Ha/Ru.15/KW;20.6.34. 15860 21-G-IV. The continuous gears on the gearbox of this car rattle very badly on the pick-up. Mr. Hx. says that he has this trouble on production cars - it is due to too much back lash in these gears. Will you please rectify. The crinkly plate servo, however, has not had enough development. Will you please replace it by a standard one. We also want to fit a slightly modified exhaust system, a print of which we attach, which will have no sliding joint, as the new mounting as fitted to 20.G.IV obviates the necessity for this. The universal suspension to Lec.3914 is required. This exhaust system will be lagged up to the main silencer and the whole of the pipe between the first expansion box and the main silencer should therefore be made in staybrite steel. We find that the lagging of the front expansion box is not thick enough on production and therefore wish to copy the lagging you have put on 20.G.IV. This is the final 10,000 miles exhaust system specification, we have withdrawn the previous note on the subject. Ha/Ru. | ||
