X216 To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}6/HP.14.12.33. c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Bentley Sump Drain Plug. Please receive herewith: LeC.3735 showing a drain plug at the side of the crankcase arranged in an accessible position. This will considerably improve the ground clearance under the engine. This should be instructed for the second series Bentley. We have already sent you LeC.3727 showing the modified plug at the bottom of the strainer. This can be used for special customers, or if it should be decided to alter some of the first series cars. We see no reason why the side drain plug could not be brought in on the 20/25 HP. though in this case we have a very much better ground clearance than on the Bentley. E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} | ||
