SHOULD BE PERFECTLY SATISFACTORY IN STANDARD WHITEMETAL.
LATEST ALUM. TIN ALLOY RUN ON 3.B.1V. SHOULD ELIMINATE ALL EXISTING COMPLAINTS EXCEPT SCORING. BY-PASS FILTER NOW ON TEST TO OVERCOME SCORING.

BIG ENDS.
PRESENT POSITION UNSATISFACTORY ONLY SOLUTION FOR EXISTING CARS AT PRESENT AVAIL-ABLE, CADMIUM NICKEL BEARINGS. CONSIDERABLE IN-CREASE IN BEARING AREA CAN BE OBTAINED BY CRANK RECOMMENDED IN Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}378
SHOULD BE PERFECTLY SATISFACTORY IN THE ALUM TIN ALLOY WHICH HAS BEEN STANDARD FOR THE PAST 18 MONTHS AND GIVEN NO TROUBLE.
ALMOST ALL THE TROUBLE EXPERIENCED WITH THE EXISTING BIG ENDS HAS BEEN DUE TO OIL SHORT-AGE OCCASIONED BY DISINTEGRATION OF THE MAIN BEARINGS. NOW THAT THIS HAS BEEN OVERCOME WE EXPECT NO FURTHER TROUBLE.

WITH THE OVERDRIVE GEARBOX ALL THE BEARING LOADS ARE REDUCED 30% AND WE SHOULD EXPECT NO TROUBLE EVEN WITH THE EXISTING P.III. CRANKSHAFT AND BIG END DIMENSIONS.
