Dear Sirs,

Your letter ref. M/C272 re sample R.R. Accumulator to hand. We are glad to say we have received the celluloid one which you have forwarded to us. We have cursorily examined this and so far, we are pleased with the details of this accumulator. We shall be making a more complete critisim of this later on and will write you again.

At the present moment we have made one discharge test after the first full charge which was continuous, at an average of about 2 1/4 amperes for 80 hours. We realised 45 ampere hours allowing battery to drop to 10.5 volts on the terminals during this discharge, but we appreciate that this is only a first discharge and we shall expect a larger capacity on the next discharge. We note you say that the battery is capable of 200 to 300 amperes for a considerable period when got thoroughly into condition. Fortunately we do not require a current rush of more than about 120 initial amperes.

Yours faithfully,

P.S. Would you kindly say if there is any nett advantage in renewing the acid after the first or second charge. This is a point we have never been quite certain about.
