10,000 miles Bentley - 5-B-IV.

The following is the final specification for this car, which will cross over to France on Wednesday or Thursday of this week :-

CHASSIS.

(1) Improved strengthened type pivots.
(2) Peregrine steering, N.Sch.4216, stiffer torsion shaft.
(3) Standard braking system with improved servo of the crinkly plate type having modified lining fixing.
(4) 14" brake drums with water excluders.
(5) Axle control to N.Sch.4178 with an alternative of springs shackled at the front.
(6) Strengthened front axle torsion shafts to N.Sch.4009.
(7) Rubber engine mounting, Lec.3895, N.Sch.4167.
(8) Brake pedal to N.Sch.4001.
(9) Cantilever pedals, N.Sch.4156, to suit rubber engine mounting.
(10) Magnesium gearbox. This has previously run 10,000 miles on 4-B-IV.
(11) Magnesium dashboard and clutch pit.
(12) Sheet steel wheel arches.
(13) 7% lower axle ratio, 10/43.
(14) Rear axle Perfect Oil Seal/leathers to overcome leakage of oil through the hub on to the brake shoes.
(15) More friction area on the swinging arm to improve brake thumps.
(16) Smith's Jackall Jacks.
(17) Improved frontal appearance with centralised wing and radiator mounting.
