SERVO GEARS - ALL CARS. It would be a convenience to use spiral gears for driving the servo instead of worm gears. This is especially so on the B.111 - B.50 gear box, which will probably also be used on Wraith, as the use of spiral gears would probably enable us to assemble the servo and drive on the bench, for insertion as a unit into the gear box. We are doubtful whether spiral gears will stand up to the duty, and should like a pair tried in an experimental car to see if there is any hope of their doing so. PD.163 shews a pair suitable for Wraith gear box, and we should like them made and fitted to a suitable Wraith car. Probably if they intend to fail signs of wear would soon be apparent.
