G823. -2- Contd. Inflamability. The asiatic varnish contains a highly evaporative constituent which accounts for its rapid drying and makes it very inflammable. The other varnishes in the liquid state burn rather less readily. The asiatic varnish is seem to be better than, or equal to, the other varnishes in most respects being water and acid proof and quick drying and elastic. Some copper parts have been treated with the varnishes, to see if, after several months, any of them give rise to corrosion. The asiatic varnish is supplied by the Asiatic Varnish Co., 37 Gardners Lane, Stockport. FJA. | ||
