To Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} PH. re Phantom II Petrol Level Indicator and Reserve. PN{Mr Northey} had reported to me the result of his discussions at Derby relative to the above matter, and as the result I wrote to R.{Sir Henry Royce} as per the attached copy. I spoke to him about the matter yes-terday. He told me that he had in mind to bring along a petrol pump as distinct from the vacuum pump. He agreed, however, that it would probably be some time before this could be introduced and that, therefore, we should revert to the definite two gallon reserve in the back tank etc. as standard. I should be glad, therefore, if the necessary action could be taken to bring this into effect, and no doubt you will let me have information in due course as to when it will be introduced.
