Mr.Johnson 16.5.12 Re 1758 Lord Northcliffe.

-------------

This car had to be left at Gravesend with a broken spring shackle, & Pyne had to ask his Lordship to come from Gravesend by train.

We sent a man from London to change the spring shackle over directly Pyne advised us.

The broken part has been sent to Derby and i have asked them to send a report upon it to you.

I am very anxious about this matter.

It is a serious thing for a man like Lord Northcliffe to have to get out of his Rolls-Royce Car and take to the train because his Rolls-Royce has failed him.

Has this breakage occurred in connection with other cars? If so, on how many? What, if any, steps are being taken to prevent it occurring?

C.J.
