The examination of ignition coils and testing a new starter motor design.

We are arranging to send you under separate cover two samples of outside primary ignition coils, De Jon (American) and Marelli (Italian) for your examination. Some time ago we also calculated an experimental scheme of windings and magnetic circuit for an R.R. design of outside primary coil which we could look up and send along to W.W. if it would be of any value to you. In connection with the new design of Japan 3. starter motor, we have arranged to obtain for examination and test a new type of Scintilla starter motor which has recently been placed on the market. This starter has what is called an oscillatory engagement, the idea being to prevent the teeth jamming on engagement. We will send a report on this motor as soon as we have received and tested same.
