I have, however, suggested the introduction of more rigidity between the front wheels and the hand control, and some friction to damp out any tendency to set up wobbles. The result of these experiments will be looked forward to with much interest, when an existing car probably has rear shock absorbers fitted, which I do definitely pressed forward for adoption as soon as possible, being the result of some of my experience in the Fen country, secondly, the reduction in the lateral flexibility of the rear springs, thirdly, the increased stiffness of the rear springs, so as to prevent a top-heavy car rolling about through falling in the pol holes which exist alternately on the side of the road, increased rigidity in the Longitudinal steering tube and the introduction of a small amount of friction in some part of the steering system to damp the freedom of the control: this latter feature may be a decided disadvantage but it is worth experimenting for the sake of providing all the possible modifications.
