opportunity to see Briggs' development of the Aspin valve. This is now on the Navy secret list and I shall not see it unless the B.F.C. can exert some pressure.

Do you consider this important enough to justify taking official action? Tjaarda, who is in charge of the work, claims to have licked the troubles of the Aspin valve which were chiefly in the spindle bearings.

(c) Turbo-hupersharger

Since the notes to which you reply, I have sent you two doses of information on the Bessler supercharger, namely by 1/D/Mar.19.40, Serial No. 30 and by 12/D/Mar.22.40.

How in hell Villiers and Percival ever hope to produce the Bessler I don't know, considering it takes all the powers of the Delaval Corp., who are masters of the art, to make two of them here, plus the latest heat-resisting steels.

The Navy Dept. (Commander Botta) has high hopes of the Bessler. If you ever expect to get it made, R.R. will have to grab it away from its present foster parents.

This letter seems long enough.
