re- Switchbox.

Cx{Major Len W. Cox - Advertising Manager}2/KW22.2.34.

Reference E8/HP16.2.34, paragraphs 4 and 5 seem to us a little contradictory. In paragraph 4 you say that the main switch in the 'off' position cuts off everything including the starter and in paragraph 5 that this arrangement acts as a master switch and renders all circuits dead in the 'off' position with the exception of the main starter circuit.

Our query is that if the switch in the 'off' position cuts off the starter, is not that considered to be interrupting the main starter circuit? If so, we do not quite follow your explanation in paragraph 5. Could you kindly explain this.

Would you also please tell us what the fitting is at the right-hand top corner of the switchbox.

We have had a little correspondence recently on the subject of reduced side lamp illumination for parking - see Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}16/E29.1.34 to Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst and Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.3/MA30.1.34 in reply. Presumably the proposal suggested in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst 3 could be incorporated in this switchbox so that when the switch is put on to P.L. i.e. parking lights, the resistance is automatically introduced and removes from the driver any necessity to do anything special to introduce the resistance.

Presumably the side and tail lamps could only be 'on' when the ignition switch is 'on' and the parking lights could only be 'on' when the ignition switch is 'off'.

The scheme to us seems very excellent and should cover our requirements very well.

You have apparently removed from the switchbox the control for the instrument board lights unless that control is the fitting on the right-hand top corner of the switchbox which we have asked you about in paragraph 3.
