X 4079 Sft.{Mr Swift} for Mr. Brock. c. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. EFC. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}4/H10.8.23. 20-HP IGNITION COIL FAILURES. Further to our memo EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}6/H14.7.23, we are today returning to you three further coils which have failed during the final test of the complete car or while the car was in service. The coils are labelled with the number of the chassis from which there were taken, i.e. 80-K-7, 59-S-7 and 58-S-3. Will you please arrange to supply us with three new coils to replace these immediately. Will you also please arrange to supply us with a full report as to the cause of these failures, copy of which should be sent to E.F.C. Possibly you may think it desirable for the coils in question to be handed to E.F.C. for his personal investigation. In view of this further evidence I again bring forward the points raised in my memo EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}6/H14.7.23. With this further evidence I feel we should certainly be in a position as soon as possible to recommend some definite action to be taken in connection with the ignition retrospectively. EP.{G.
