LAYSHAFT BEARINGS. --------------------- In connection with your communication with Vandervell of the 18th instant, regarding the Layshaft bushes, I suggest that the .094 dia. hole drilled in the second motion shaft is quite unnecessary. Oil is fed into the bore of the second motion shaft by means of a scoop at the forward end, and clearance which already exists between the bearing shaft and second motion shaft, should form an ample reservoir for the lubrication of these bearings.
