It should be observed that in the above list of returns and repairs there may be some cases in which faults have appeared in gauges prior to their running on a car, and therefore do not represent a gauge trouble in the hands of customers.

In the cases of the broken copper tube, we have not yet been able to trace any faulty manufacture in connection with these.

It should be borne in mind that we have delivered to you to date 1,160 - 20 H.P., and 40/50 H.P. cement joint gauges, and only 695 fused seal gauges. The great majority of these fused seals have been of recent deliveries, and a proportion of them may not as yet be in the hands of users. Deliveries of the fused seal commenced on the 20th of June 1930.

These are all the records which we have here of gauges returned during the last 7 months, and we trust that the information is what you are requiring. We can trace further back, but we believe that the records of 1930 would
