Dear Sir,

No further remarks since my last report - clutch began slipping when in the traffic out here. Mr. P.N. generally starts on 3rd. Will change springs at first opportunity.

I enclose time and expenses sheets for week-ending above date, which please pass for payment as soon as possible, otherwise I should run short of money as I took only £40. with me and I am to meet car expenses.

I am doing my best for the car under trying conditions.

I will report later in the week as I have not a minute to myself just now. Please excuse haste.

Yours faithfully,

(Sgd) S.H. Lauro.

N.B. On second thought being given the high charges out here for washing car, garaging it, etc. I think my provision of £40. quite insufficient to meet all expenses pending receipt of my wages and expenses, and as circumstances will make it impossible for me to receive monies regularly every week, I would esteem it a favour of you would kindly send me a further advance of say £20 or £30 - C/o Mr. P.N. Hotel Metropole, Cannes.

Thanking you in anticipation,

Yours faithfully,

(Sgd) S.H. Lauro.

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} We have sent £30 today. Retaining letter for authority
