6110 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/wst.7/AP. Experimental Department 9th February 1937. Messrs Hadfields Ltd., Western Road, Mitcham, SURREY Impregnation of Electrical Windings with Varnish. Dear Sirs, In connection with the coil windings, on various units of our Electrical equipment, we have under consideration the use of copper wire insulated with enamel and a specially prepared paper. We may, in some cases, wish to impregnate the windings with varnish, but at present are doubtful about doing so, as we have the impression that varnishes attack and tend to dissolve the enamel.. Will you please inform us concerning your varnish in this respect. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
