GRYLLS BENTLEY V.{VIENNA} GEARBOX Please receive FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}351, which shews a method of providing tip relief on the gear wheel by grinding. The relief provided, as far as we can calculate is equal to the tooth deflection under full load. In order to try the experiment quickly, it is suggested that an existing gear should be treated resulting in a reduced thickness of tooth at the pitch line and more backlash, which will not be present in the final form. Please instruct experimentally. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
