To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re 20/25. Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}7/E23.4.31 The other day I met Mr.Minchin and Mr.Guy Knowles, both of whom are, as I think you know, enthusiastic RR users and at the present time owners of 20/25's. They said that, if you drive a 20/25 hard all day on a long journey, the lubricating oil gets heated to such a degree that it practically all gets used up, or in any case ought to be completely renewed. They consider that the available oil supply is too small, i.e. about a gallon. I have spoken to PN{Mr Northey} about this and, whilst he thinks that they have rather exaggerated the position, he does feel that the capacity is on the small side and I should be glad to know whether in Japan III you are making arrangements to increase the oil capacity.
