Lett-22 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to Wsv. c. to HY{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} c. to EFG ROY{Sir Henry Royce}4/G25.4.24. As you are aware, we are particularly anxious to have alternative sources of supply available, and as far as possible English sources. With this object in view we have for some time past been endeavouring to find an Ammeter of English manufacture which would compare favourably with our present standard Weston. Of the various instruments submitted, only the one put forward by Elliott Brothers, of Lewisham, has given any results comparable with the Weston. Herewith such Elliott Ammeter, tested by EFC. Will you kindly arrange to submit to the usual 10,000 miles tests, and let us know the result in due course. The glass is broken. Possibly you can get another one fitted if necessary. If not, kindly advise, and we will then send it back to the makers. ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} Sample Ammeter to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ENCLOSURE NO 184 JUSTSO | ||
